I have a macbook and I have a nokia N95 8gb. Is there any way I can type SMSs with the big keyboard?
if i understand your need correctly: sign up for an AIM account if you don't already have it. get any aim client (original, digsby, trillian etc) if you send message to a screename using this format: +18005558888 with 1-800-555-8888 being the number you want to SMS it will send it to that number.
Unless I misunderstood the question; there wasn't a lot of details =c/

If you have a gmail account, you can send texts through the chat function. It won't show up as being from your phone, but it'll stick your name on there.

I'd recommend against the AIM/gmail/Skype/etc options if you want people to respond to your texts... I have a friend who regularly sends texts from skype... so I type a response, hit "send", and then notice an hour later that I was replying to SKYPE_USERNAME instead of to +614blahblah and my reply is sitting in my outbox with an error status...
that Blue Phone Elite thing looks nifty tho...

At least for the Gmail SMS<>Chat function that's not true, as it comes from a specific telephone number Gmail/Google assigns to you, so responses show up in the chat window.>
