Anyone ever used the Paypal-like service Setcom?
I just purchased an item on Etsy expecting to be able to pay with Paypal, and the seller has written to inform me that she is from South Africa, and, to quote her, "South Africa isn't covered by Paypal, so I use a secure payment site called Setcom."
Do you know of this service? I've never heard of Setcom.

Sorry, but that's not correct that South Africans cannot use PayPal. I'm a South African and have been using PayPal for more than three years.
There was a brief time when PayPal didn't support South Africa, but that was long ago.

Hm. According to PayPal's web site, South African's can send but not receive payment with PayPal. Is that out of date? If so, it might be the cause of the seller's confusion too.

From Setcom's web site, they seem to be based in South Africa and serve mainly South Africans, which would be sufficient to explain why you (we) haven't heard of it.
