MozillaFilter: Please help me find my Mozilla bookmarks (MI)

We recently upgraded our PC. The new hard drive is now the C drive and our old hard drive is the F drive. However, I can't seem to locate the old bookmarks on the F drive, and I can't open the "old" installation of Mozilla to export them (the guy who set up our PC reinstalled Mozilla on the C drive, which I wasn't expecting). Can these bookmarks be saved?

Search for bookmarks.html (in your Moz profile directory, wherever that is) and they should all be in there.

If the F drive hasn't been reformatted or had any files deleted, you should be able to find your old bookmarks. Look in F:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\Default\ for an HTML document.

If the file's there, with the old links intact, you can load them into your browser using Mozilla's Bookmarks Manager. Simply click "File" in the Manager, "import", and enter the location of the F: drive bookmarks.

Best answer: Smart Dalek's advice works for Windows 2000/XP machines. For Windows 95/98/ME look in F:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.xxx\

Response by poster: bonehead's advice wins.

Thank you all so much. I'm not thinking very clearly today, I'm afraid.
