I want to see designer dining rooms... but where?

Where can I find pictures of inspired dining room table settings?

I have an assortment of gorgeous fabrics and trim I bought to make table linens for my dining room. I would love to look at pictures (similar to these) of beautifully set tables to get some ideas on how to scale/layer runners, placemats, napkins and tablecloths and how to add accessories. Where should I look? Thanks for your help!

If you are looking for books, I suggest checking the Library of Congress Online Catalog. Select Basic Search. In the Search Text field enter: Table setting and decoration. In the Search Type field select: Subject Keyword.

There are 155 results and an option on your left to narrow the subject to Centerpieces, Runners, Napkins, et cetera.

After you select the 155 results link, I recommend choosing Date (Descending) in the Resort results by window. This will list the books most recently published.

I also checked Rizzoli searching for "table settings" and came up with these 2 books.

A really useful (and totally lame) search term that you may or may not know is "tablescape" for this kind of stuff.

Additionally, Sandra Lee, on her Food Network show Semi-Homemade Meals does a tablescape (and a cocktail) that fits the theme of every episode she makes. A lot of her stuff is an alternating really obnoxious and kind of neat, though, so you know. Hit and miss.

I have always gleaned excellent ideas from Apartment Therapy. I imagine if you did a basic search for table settings, you'd be overwhelmed with results.

I fnd that *cough*Martha Stewart*cough* also has a bevvy of unique and interesting ideas for table settings.

Try browsing a Google image search for wedding reception place settings.
