Looking for a C64 game where the player character was a little green blob with legs

I'm looking for the name of a Commodore 64 game (although it might have been a vic-20 game.) The player character was a little green blob with legs and no arms (as I remember it).

The game play was you were at the bottom of a castle trying to work your way up, from screen to screen. There were spikes that looked like little arrows, and if you fell on them your sprite would turn into two pink blobs and you died.

I don't even have the music stuck in my head, I have the memory of the music stuck in my head and I want to know why I thought it was so catchy.

Hmm, did your character have to open some gates to proceed? While you answer that question I'll go look in my old cassette-case and see what I can find.

Q-bert, maybe? Except I think Q-bert was a little armless orange guy.

Could it have been Adventure? You're a pink square in that one, not a green blob, but it works with the castle theme.

Best answer: The Dark Tower.

Starquake has catchy music, but you are a red blob, and on an alien planet. The rest works though.
