Help me find a good place to volunteer in los angeles.

I've been doing some searches and there just seems to be so many. A few things I'd like, but don't have to particularly have..

-Gay rights/Civil Rights/Left Leaning Politics
-Being around people my age [mid 20s]
-I work well with kids, taught kids when I was younger
-I'd need to work in the evening/weekend [9-5 job]

Also, I live in Hollywood if that helps at all.

I volunteered several times with Reading to Kids and had a lot of fun. It's one Saturday every month, and the volunteers usually get together afterwards at El Cholo for lunch & whatnot.

Somewhat more of a time commitment is Los Angeles Team Mentoring, which has weekly after-school meetings during the school year. My husband did it for several years and liked it a lot.

You might also want to try Social Actions.
First, we collect ways to get involved in the causes you care about from these 40+ action sources, including Care2, Change.org, DonorsChoose.org, DemocracyinAction, GlobalGiving, Idealist, Kiva, SixDegrees and VolunteerMatch.

Then, we make it easy for you to find these opportunities by presenting them in a user-friendly search engine.
