PDA recommendations:
Needs: Must have CF slot, 802.11b.
Wants: External GPS unit which will work with both my laptop & the PDA
Budget: 399$ or less, not including GPS/additional memory. Must come with standard accessories - cradle, cable, charger, etc.
Etc: Add-on software for viewing PDFs, Word/Excel files, map software.

The brand new Dell Axim X50 almost exactly meets your requirements. CF, 802.11b, Bluetooth, cradle, $399.

I have much love for my Axim X5, which you can probably pick up pretty cheap now. I've got a CF wireless B card that works fine, have not used GPS. A good Axim site is aximsite.com.
