What's a lightweight, simple email server I can install on my XP box? It will only serve like 2 addresses. IMAP and web access is a plus. Running as a service would also be nice.

XMail is a fairly robust GPL'd mail server which runs as a service. No IMAP or Web access, but very fast and stable. Good tutorial on configuring XMail here.

I use X-Mail as well (under linux). It is a nice package which has never given me a problem. Handles pop/SMTP etc. Basically it is a free all in one e-mail server. Configuratio is a royal pain, but the xmailadmin program on Danelope's first link simplifies things massively.

vpop3 - Includes IMAP and webmail. I use this at work, and it's so easy to use.

Response by poster: Just for archival purposes: I went with Mercury Mail, which is easyt to install, configure and manage (GUI), free, and supports IMAP as well as POP.
