A wall calendar without LOLcats or Jeff Foxworthy quotes?

Attractive handmade or graphically interesting 2009 calendars with space for writing on the dates? Think Etsy/Hable Construction/See Jane Work/Mary Blair/Charley Harper.

The universe of Pretty Wall Calendars does not appear to have any overlap at all with Useful Wall Calendars. No matter how interesting the print, if there's no space to write in the appointments, it's no good to me. Does anyone know where to find a 2009 wall calendar that's at least standard size (12*12) and fits the aesthetic listed above? (There actually is a 2009 Harper calendar but it's out of stock on Amazon, and I'm a little OD'ed on him anyway right now.)

Do you have a cool indie bookstore or paper store that would have this kind of stuff where you're at? My city used to have this awesome bookstore that had a huge calendar selection around the new year.

Response by poster: NoraReed, I'm in Houston. I went to a couple of nice stationary stores, saw nothing, unless you count the Monet 7th-grade Waterlilies calendars. I may have started looking too late, but does anyone have any other ideas?

Oops, forgot about Paper Source (a paper store of the type NoraReed mentioned). Here's a search on calendars : http://search.paper-source.com/index/_/N-/Ntt-calendar

Just FYI those Cavallini calendars (birds, botanica, etc) listed at Paper Source do not have space for writing anything by the dates. Beautiful, though. I get one every year.

The picture a day wall calendars are usually what I buy when I don't have time to make my own. They're one of the few that put nice big spaces on each day for jotting appointments and stuff. Lonely Planet calendars are usually quite gorgeous, but I haven't seen the 2009 version yet. LP also (usually) have big note-jotting areas on each day.

1/2 Price books (tons of them in Houston) has a really incredible calendar selection. Even ecologically friendly & some specifically for the organisation-obsessed.

Response by poster: I went with the "Up to You" calendar from Etsy. Great finds everybody!
