Apple TV - Can I keep my iTunes library only on my Apple TV to free up the hard drive on my macbook? If I were to do this, how would I keep my iPhone iTunes library up to date?

I don't think you can do this, although I'm not sure. But a better solution would be an external hard disk. This gives you a place to back things up, and you can get a ridiculous amount of storage pretty cheaply these days. (It's always a good idea to back up your iTunes library, especially purchases.)

You could store your itunes library if it small but to be honest, it would be better if you do an external hard drive with a back up plan. You can still have some of your collection on the hard Apple TV but I found that if you have things like movies and other files it gets full real quick.

Unfortunately you can't do this. If you need to free up space on your macbook the best practice would be to purchase a small and rugged hard drive and store you your media that way (tutorial here). Be warned though it can slow down the whole iTunes experience if you're not using FireWire, usb 2.0 just doesn't cut it.

Response by poster: ok... so can I use time capsule as a wireless HDD, keep all my itunes tracks there, and stream them to airtunes or apple TV?
