Name this flavor of travertine!

What kind of travertine is this? We found photos of two floors that we really like, but haven't been able to find anyone selling something quite like it. We're pretty sure it's travertine, but the color and color variations are moderately different than anything I've seen at a store or online. Floor 1 | Floor 2 | another shot of floor 2

It looks similar to travertine I've seen that is quarried near Gardiner, MT the North Entrance to Yellowstone Park. I can't find a perfectly representative picture, but Montana Stone Gallery has a travertine gallery that may help you narrow things down.

This looks very similar to the floor in my parents house. AFAIK it is made out of tiles that were manufactured in Italy.

I can't tell what kind of stone it is, and in case nobody else here has an answer, the Palo Alto online article that the Floor2 pictures are from gives the contact info for the building contractors, who also happen to be the owners of the house. They'd probably know.

Why not take your pictures to a stone yard near you and ask them? They are probably happy to help, especially if they get the idea you might want to order some :)

This looks exactly like the travertine we have as our backsplash in the kitchen. Ours is actually Mexican travertine, glazed. (I only know as much about tile as pointing to the one I liked, though, so not a bad idea to take the photo to a marble and tile store and ask if they recognize it)
