Is there a reference for changes to ms word rtf encoding?

Kinda boring question, but is there any good reference for the changes Microsoft makes to its rtf encoding between service packs/minor revisions of Word?

I have seen this document, but it acts like there are no differences between minor versions, which I know from comparing files to be the case, and it's causing a problem. I've pretty much decided that rtf is a piece of crap "format" ( i used to think it was nice and open!) but I can't change in the environment I'm in so... Is there such a thing as an rtf validator? some forums seem to say that it's not possible since the format isn't defined that strictly etc. argh :)

Best answer: Here is the RTF spec but I promise you won't like it.

Also, check out the RTF Extensions document.

As a side note, you should take these specs with a grain of salt. Having dealt with the TNEF and some other exchange-related docs I find that they are not 100% accurate. There is a bit of a divide between what's written and what's implemented.
