Help me name my new iPhone development company!
I'd like to have a cool biologically-inspired name (just cuz I really dig biology).
Thanks for your help!

Have you eyeballed wikipedia's list of biology topics?
Probably stay away from synapse/etc. brain-word roots since the world of tech startup names is so oversaturated with those roots.
How about telophase?

Anagenesis
(an-uh-jen-eh-sis)
A pattern of evolutionary change involving the transformation of an entire population, sometimes to a state different enough from the ancestral population to justify renaming it as a separate species; also called phyletic evolution.

Best answer: Less geek more street.

iPhone Development Company!
(80% serious, if there's no trademark problem, which there likely would be)

ion – more physics than biology, but a nice sounding play on the "i" theme, but without hitting you over the head with it...aren't we all tired of this iCrap anyway?
Intelligent Development – The ID to your IT
Cellapagos IT Land
Phonological Awareness – again, more linguistics than biology, but could work.

Can the OP talk a little bit about what sort of projects they are interested in having their company focus on?
Is it Business, games, or social networking or what?

Personal productivity software, with an emphasis on data collection and visualization

Since you're into visualization, I like Vesalius (google images from his books). He's a good patron saint of making the invisible visible.
Some other random nonsense from biology courses:
Hybrid Vigor
Electrophoresis (seems too long... and hard to spell!)
Ribosome ("Powering your cells!")
V1 (the first visual cortex... it's like the hardware of sight; pixels, not vectors)

I also thought of Ribosome like zpousman. It's the assembly center for protein precursors analogous to a software development company. Though I could see how Saliva might be easier to brand on a website.
