Father & Son tee-shirt sayings for the smart ass family.

I'd like to make matching father & son t-shirts for my husband and stepson with simple iron on letters. However, I can't come up with a witty saying for the shirts. Any ideas?

I'm purchasing matching shirts then plan on ironing on the saying.

I thought about "I'm with stupid" with the corresponding arrow. Lame. So, I'm curious if you can come up with something better. The saying doesn't have to be the same on each shirt.

Both have a good sense of humor and my stepson is 12, so nothing cute.

Have you ever actually done iron-on letters? They're a pain in the butt and they tend to peel off after a while. I'd recommend ordering from Neighborhoodies. They just come out looking sooo good!

Response by poster: I have done iron on letters, I have a good source. Some of the shirts in my closet have been going on for 5 years.

For dad: Regardless, Responsible

Well, it's not original but I saw a shirt awhile ago that said "Without me it's just Aweso"

I've seen "Big Guy" and "Little Guy" before.

Do they have any catch phrases they use a lot? When I was (much) younger my sister made my whole family catch phrase shirts. I wore my "I know you are, but what am I?" shirt until it was rags. My brother got similar use from his "Takes one to know one." shirt.

Consider using fabric paint to to write the phrases. It will make it more personal than iron-on letters. Unless your handwriting is as bad as mine is.

I can't imagine that the 12 year old, or the dad for that matter will think this is a good idea. With that said, I will offer up my suggestions, which are horrible and not well thought-out:

Dad: Man
Son: Child

Dad: Technology is Scary
Son: My Dad Hates Robots

Dad: Old Fogey
Son: Whipper-Snapper

I don't know if this is meant to be a surprise, but I think you should let them have a say. Especially if you don't want your son to bury his in the back of his closet! Kids that age can be so picky about what statements they're willing to make with their clothes.
