Book suggestion needed...or I'll give you the people's elbow!

The bookstore I run is beginning a weekly "celebrity" hosted Kids reading program. I need recommendations for books for the hosts to read, but specifically, I need a book recommendation for our kick off week which is hosted by a WWE wrestler.

I know there is at least one group of juvenile offenders, disabled and special needs children coming in, but I don't know what to expect otherwise.

I need suggestions that would cover a wide range of ages and interests, but also not take a prohibitively long time to read aloud.

We have a pretty ginormous kids section, so hopefully I'll be able to find any books suggested, but please feel free to give me a wide selection to choose from just in case!

I would love to hear Dinosaur vs. Bedtime read by a professional wrestler. Roar! Roar!

Best answer: Where the Wild Things Are. Although I do have to admit that I love that book and would love to hear it from anyone.

It's very short, and for very little kids, but "Little Gorilla" is very sweet, beautifully illustrated and would be great read by a professional wrestler.

Can you get in touch with the wrestler himself? Maybe ask him what his favorite book growing up was.

Response by poster: Unfortunately, he was already asked if he had anything in mind to read and had no suggestions.

Another picture book - The Great Paper Caper by Oliver Jeffers.

Some chapter books - The Adventures of Captain Underpants by Dav Pilkey, The Twits or any of Roald Dahl's other y.a. stuff, Elisabetta Dami's Geronimo Stilton books, The 13 Clocks by James Thurber.

I like the idea of dinosaur books read by a wrestler. We're the Noisy Dinosaurs (Crash, Bang, Wallop) by John Watson is a good one!
