Nice robes with bold designs in London

I am after a nice women's robe, probably cotton or silk, with a modern, bold design like a large repeating print. I don't really know where to look though, most of shops I've been into have had thick plain dressing gowns but nothing nicer. The closest I've seen to what I'm after is this but there is a slight air of granny to it.

Bonus points if it is widely available because it would be nice to get hold of something before Christmas.

Best answer: Have you considered getting a yukata (a cotton kimono; some are meant to be worn as a summer garment, but the ones I'm thinking of are primarily used as bathrobes)? Yukata often have large geometric designs.

Response by poster: Thanks, that is a great suggestion. It looks like there are some good ones here.

Also interested in any more traditional suggestions.

Best answer: Try these:

Laura Ashley

Figleaves

Charlotte & Co

John Lewis

Next has lots and lots of cute robes.

Littlewoods

I know you linked to Monsoon, but I was just in there on Friday lusting after some polka dot robes that aren't on the website but are this same pattern. It may be worth stopping in one of the bigger stores if you walk by.

Also stop in and check Per Una at M & S. They have lots of cute patterned pj's and many of them have robes to match.

Response by poster: Thanks, triggerfinger. The Laura Ashley one is particularly nice.

John Lewis was actually my first port of call but everything was pretty plain. Stripes at most.
A lot of the stuff in other shops divided unhappily into school girl or granny. I was after something a bit more contemporary.

It is a shame marrimeko don't make gowns or they would have been my ideal choice.

Why don't you get some Marimekko fabric and have it made into a robe? If you were in New York, I would suggest you find an inexpensive tailor in Chinatown. Surely there are analogous tailors in London?

Response by poster: If I'd thought ahead a bit I might well have!
