Where can I buy a huge order or desposable ponchos in North Carolina at the last minute?

Where can I find minimum 500 disposable rain ponchos for canvassers in North Carolina?

Unless someone provides a local contact where you can pick them up, you'll be out of luck.
I like mrbarrett's idea, but I would suggest clear bags, which are probably carried by a janitorial supply company. The clear bags would let the clothing show through, thus looking less like a "garbage bag" right away. And tell your people to bring a hat. Good luck.

If you need them by Monday night, you have between now and Monday night to drive around your local area buying ponchos from the various Wal-Martses and Targets and Searses and gas stations and grocery stores you drive by.

I'd contact a local outdoor college or professional sport venue. You'll pay for them, probably at a bulk price, but they surely have more than 500 rain ponchos in stock. Finding the right person to call might be hard, but they are out there.

Try Big Lots - they usually have stuff like this randomly scattered in their stores, sometimes near the registers. Call ahead, speak with a manger, tell them you're campaigning for Dole, and see if you can get a bulk discount.

And no, I didn't want to make hundreds of phone calls to remind folks to prepare for the rain. An environmentalist president will surely offset the carbon footprint of 500 pieces of plastic.
