What are some good sayings or quotes along the lines of Bill Clinton and the Sphinx from Mystery Men? i.e. the power of our example not the example of our power, before you can learn what I teach i must first teach how to learn, etc....
Best answer: It is known as chiasmus in rhetoric; googling "chiasmus examples" brings up over 30,000 hits.

I'm glad ricochet biscuit knew the term, because my googling was going nowhere. I freakin' love The Sphinx, though! My favorite quote from him is "When you learn to balance a tack hammer on your head, you will head off your foes with a balanced attack."
Thanks for asking this question.

Good point, carsonb -- I may have been guilty of some terminological inexactitude.
From the wikipedia page for chiasmus:
These examples are often quoted by modern commentators to demonstrate chiasmus, although they are defined as antimetabole in the classical sense.
Quite the modern commentator am I.

I wouldn't worry. That's nothing compared to not being able to string together a coherent, correctly formatted sentence for an answer, sheesh.

There's an old Rocky Horror radio ad that has Riff Raff saying, "If you don't come see this movie, I will belt you around the mouth, and mouth you around the belt."
