30" Apple Cinema Display with Xbox 360 and PS3 (all HDMI) problems. I have bought probably $100 worth of cables and still it doesnt work.

Tried PS3 HDMI > HDMI to DVI converter > 30" cinema doesnt work
Tried Media player > HDMI to DVI converter > 30" cinema doesnt work
Tried Xbox 360 > HDMI to DVI converter > 30" cinema doesnt work

I have bought a pack of leads for both Xbox 360 and PS3 to work on monitors. The only problem is that the leads go from hdmi to DVI male. As the Cinema display only has a DVI male to plug in it wont work.

I purchased a DVI-D female to DVI-D female converter to bridge the gap. Will this work?

My understanding is that the ACD isn't HDCP-compliant, which both the 360 and the PS3 require to output anything.

You might look into an HDCP stripper.

First i would return the converters to wherever you bought them from and go to monoprice. They have the most inexpensive (but not cheap) cables of anywhere i've seen. like a 15ft hdmi to dvi for $5.82. they have a female dvi coupler for less than $8. i know this is off topic but they also have flat screen mounts that tilt and swivel for dirt cheap if you in the market for something for that monitor. i think for that size it was only $36.

i ran in to this same problem trying to hook my computer up to my tv and i had to buy a video card that was HDCP ready. havne't heard anything about an HDCP stripper so i couldn't tell you if it works or where to get one but it seems good in theory.

Definately a HDCP error. Your only option is get a Component->VGA->DVI adapter, not sure how the quality will be though.

longdaysjourney has it.

If you need a replacement monitor, Dell's 30-inch 3007WFP monitor is HDCP-compliant, but not with dual-link resolutions.
