How can I help keep Pushing Daisies from being canceled?

There is minor talk going around that my favorite show ever could be canceled for mediocre ratings, which can easily be attributed to the show's quirkiness and uniqueness This is the only show I have ever been truly excited for, and I want to help it. Any suggestions? And I am asking for your direct help: please watch it Wednesdays at 8/9c on ABC.

This blog has some ideas, including the "send a random item" idea (daisies, in this case) that may have worked for Roswell.

I'd recommend either the direct mail or purchasing the show on iTunes ideas. DVD sales brought back Family Guy twice.

You should watch it on ABC.com. Then you know you'll be counted.

Sending stuff to the studio shows the depth of the fandom, but ABC is really interested in the breadth. Especially after the example of Jericho, where one had no relation to the other and the show still had no viewers after it was brought back from the dead.

Piggybacking on this question: I've tried to watch it (for precisely this reason: to ensure that I'll be counted) on the ABC website, but I keep getting a message that I can't watch the show because the ads for it are unavailable. This has happened with every show I've tried on the ABC website. The Help form on that page also doesn't work for me, and sending a message to the regular ABC contact form netted no result. Has anyone else had this problem and solved it successfully?

Never mind. Just downloaded a new version of the player, and now it works. Some of the things I wanted to watch are gone, but it works.

One of the very few shows in my adult life that I truly, completely love. From the first episode, I was hooked.

This, despite seeing Sonnenfeld on Letterman a few weeks ago and learning that he is a complete, utter idiot.

But saving the show: my best guess is to tell as many people as you can about how awesome it is. Tell them to watch. Start a fansite/blog explaining why you love it, and talking about the things in each episode that you enjoy.

Having recently worked on a now-canceled show with a madly devoted fanbase, I can tell you that the network does not care what/how much stuff gets sent to them. As smackfu said above, the fanlove for Jericho did not translate into ratings after the show came back, and it was eventually canceled anyway.

The only thing the networks care about is the demographic, really. If the show isn't winning 18-49 year-old viewers, the network doesn't care about the show.

They are at least starting to count people who timeshift the shows, so that's something. But, yeah, the only way to keep your show on the air is to get lots and lots of people in the right age range to watch it.

I think you'd have to start some sort of a web campaign that tells people to WATCH THE SHOW. That's the only thing that will save it.

Echoing Oolookitty's comments about Jericho. The fans saved it, and then didn't tune in. Bye bye, Jericho.

P.S. You could start a Facebook group, blog, etc. It doesn't need to be fancy, as long as the message gets out to the masses.

ABC.com's new player has been shitty for many people. I uninstalled and reinstalled and finally gave up and e-mailed them for help, only to get "Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?" I found that if you go through fancast.com, the ABC shows go to a link where the old player is still up and running.

That said, I am with you on wanting to save the show, but if you don't have a Nielsen box, they don't give a shit, unfortunately. And I AM in their right age range and watch it live...but have no box, so I don't exist :P The show's doomed. But then again, any show I really like generally is, so we were lucky enough to get this far. Probably wouldn't have happened without the strike.

It's all about getting people to watch the show and raising the ratings.

-As others have said, watch online.

-If you have TiVo, record and watch episodes within a week of airing (Or get TiVo and...)

-This show lacks promotion, so - Blog about it. Particularly if you have a lot of readers. Example at AT. Tell people why you love it. The colorful costumes and sets? The quirky dialogue? Lee Pace?

I don't think this show has much of a chance, especially since the production costs are so much higher. But one can always hope. I love this show, and the spoilers that I've read sound really good.
