nag box blocker?

We're looking for a house and thus spending some time on various estate agent and FSBO sites. I like to open each house's page in a new tab for easy comparison, but just about every FSBO site throws up a "Don't steal from us" nag box on right-click. It's obnoxious. Is there an extension or Greasemonkey script that can keep this from happening?

I've emailed them that what they're doing is only going to foil the most inept of content thieves and it's pissing of honest potential buyers like me, but to no avail. FWIW I can still open links in new tabs but only after closing the nag boxes.

Can you give us some example sites, and what OS and browser you are using? That will help you get a good answer.

In Firefox, use middle click to open a link in a new tab. You may have to enable it in the preferences. I don't remember if it does it by default. Oh and on most mice, middle click is done by pushing down the scroll button. On some laptops, clicking both buttons executes a middle click.

Best answer: Ctrl-click also works in Firefox to open links in a new tab, at least for me.

Alternately, if you're using Firefox, you can also try going to Tools->Options->Content->Advanced Javascript Settings, then unchecking 'Disable or replace context menus.'

If box's suggestion doesn't work NoScript will fix this.

advicepig and box basically have it covered. I'd just add that you can also drag a link and drop it one the tab bar.

You definitely don't need to add anything to your browser to deal with this.

Response by poster: I know about the middle mouse button but my trackpad only has two buttons. I have NoScript installed but need to allow scripts on the pages to navigate. I didn't realize I could just drag links to the tab bar. It's definitely a better solution than the current situation but I think ctrl-click is the easiest way to circumvent this annoyance. Thanks all.

On many track pads pressing both buttons acts as a middle click.
