Know any movies with alchemy?

I'm looking for footage from old movies (preferably silent) featuring scenes involving alchemy.

Ultimately, I'm looking for scenes with dramatic transformations, reactions, etc; like a flash and a puff of smoke coming from some chemical reaction.

Ideas?

(Bonus points if you know where I can get them this weekend, in Los Angeles on via Internet.)

You might want to do some research into The Golem which I have vaguely creeped out memories of from film school.

Response by poster: I'll definitely watch Holy Mountain, but that's way not what I need for this project. I'm looking for quirky old depictions of alchemy, or wacky science, with flashes and poofs of smoke.
