Looking for movie cliche

Just saw Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. I feel like the storyline, (i.e. guy/girl is hung up on his/her good-looking-yet-lame ex, meets a smart cool new person, and ends up rejecting their old flame for said new love interest when old flame gets jealous / comes around too late), has been used plenty to the point of cliche. Problem is, I can't think of any examples! Can anyone give me some? Thanks!
The Holiday (especially Kate Winslet's character, but also Jack Black's)

Sweet Home Alabama, with the added twist that the new guy is actually the long-lost old guy.

Teen Wolf
Teen Wolf Too
Can't Buy Me Love (the girl is hung up on the football player...a stretch but it's there)
Road Trip
Saving Silverman
To stretch it a bit...Superman from the show Lois & Clark (Lois hung up on Superman, falls in love with Clark, then finds out they're the same person)

it's even in the setup to 'pretty woman' - richard gere's character asks a woman about to be married if he was absent too much while they were dating and she tells him his secretary was her bridesmaid.
