Can I get information off an old computer with 2 drives in a RAID 0 setup, if the new computer has a RAID controller?

My old computer died (complex, but non-HD-related). I've got a new computer. The old computer had 2 drives in a RAID 0 (striping) setup. Is there a way to get the data off them, assuming no possibility of reviving the old computer? (The new machine does have a RAID controller)

No, there isn't. Well, you could take the RAID controller out of the old machine and use that, maybe. Or you could take the drives to a (very expensive) data recovery place, if the data is really that valuable. But for the most part, no, your data is gone.

Not to be the disagreeable one, but there might be. Raid Reconstructor can be used to "de-stripe" a RAID 0 or 5 set of disks.

Response by poster: Thanks, I'll definitely try that. I wish it were more obvious what was limited in the 30 day trial.

Usually if something is time limited it is otherwise a full version. But please let us know if there is a hidden gotcha.
