What narrative, if any, is being presented in the Kaizers Orchestra album Ompa til du dør?
A couple of years ago I discovered Kaizers Orchestra's Ompa til du dør. It was my favorite album of that year, and I still listen to it at least a couple of times a week. I've found translations of the lyrics online, but I'm still left wondering:
What the Hell is happening?
I get the impression that the songs are all connected. Certain characters are mentioned more than once, certain events are recurring throughout the album. Is there an actual story to be followed here? Was the album just created in such a way to give the impression that things are connected, without ever actually connecting them? Is it all in my head?
Put my mind to rest, Metafilter.

By the way, I skimmed a couple of discussions and a lot of people seem to agree with you on that a few of the songs on "Ompa..." are connected. But as for a narrative, I can't find either support nor dismissal.
