Money Order Error

I'm applying to schools and because I'm a moron, and because of habit, I just accidentally endorsed my own money order. Can I just cross it out and will it still be valid? Will crossing it out make me look like a real idiot to the school I'm applying to? Or should I just leave the error, and pretend like I don't know any better?

Go back to your bank (or whereever you got it) and get a new one.

I'm with Quartermass. Just go get a new one. Might cost you the service fee but it would avoid headache.

Response by poster: Thanks a ton guys. I went back to the bank and they took care of it. It wasn't a problem at all. It's been a really really long day though. I almost forgot my bank card there too, which would have just been fitting, considering the day I'm having. On the bright side, I did catch the error after I made it, the AskMeFi crowd made me feel better about going back, AND the lady reminded me about my bank card so I haven't broke down and cried or anything today. Time for a nap or something. And one more thing to add... with how embarrassed I was over the stupid mistake, I am coming to see the merits of an anonymous option on the AskMeFi questions, haha.

Although I would probably agree with the advice to get a new one, I would also point out that the people who will process your money order are almost certainly not the same people who will read and decide on your application. So don't worry about looking foolish.

Talk about long days... I was sitting here wondering what being a Mormon (moron) had to do with this.....

Glad it worked out for your banished!

Plus, you know, the people who look at your application are really far more concerned about your GPA and such than your name and address and such. Hell, I spelled my own name wrong on my application to McGill, and they still offered me a scholarship.
