Giving the gift of beer to a friend in Brooklyn

Help me get a load of beer bought and delivered to a friend in Brooklyn. I am nowhere near New York, or the USA even.
A friend from Brooklyn recently did a favour for me (she received my online-bought camera, and brought it to me on her trip to Europe). I promised to shower her in beer, but alas, it could not be. She will have to arrange her own bath, but I still need to provide the beer.
So I need to know how to buy a case or two of beer (Stella Artois preferred) and have it delivered to her in Brooklyn, NY, USA. Amazon does not sell beer, and though I am tempted to try sending her beer precursors, I feel it would be a cute cop-out rather than a thank-you gift.
Any other idea?

FreshDirect.com delivers beer as well. Shouldn't be too pricey....and that link hopefully goes to Stella Artois, too.

Apparently this site will let you order from a local store. Never used it, looks like it's NYC only.

Oh, hold on, Manhattan only. Lame.

I'll second trixare4kids suggestion of East Coast Beer Distributors. I used to shop there all the time when I lived in Brooklyn, and they've got the best selection of beer that I've found in the NYC area.

I'm not sure who would consider Stella a gift, it seems like the beer equivalent of a lump of coal. In any case, this site has a good list of online beer retailers and their shipping limitations. I've heard good things about many of these stores including Liquid Solutions, Liquorama and Hi-Time Wine. Most of them should have Stella but please consider the myriad other options if you want this person to remain your friend.

Depending on where she is in Brooklyn - I would get her a gift certificate (you can get one online) to Bierkraft. It's in Park Slope and they have about a trillion types of beer that you can mix and match individually (thereby "showering" her with it). It's also an amazing little food store with great cheese to pair with that beer.
Having spent the equivalent to the cost of an apartment there, I might be a bit biased but as a "something special" gift for someone who likes beer I'm sure it would be well received.

nthing Bierkraft. I live a plane ride away from there and make a point of stopping in when I'm in the city. Great service. You could maybe even call them & see if they'd put together a package-to-go for her, based on what beers you know she likes, including cheese/chocolate/meats that they have on hand.

last time I checked, freshdirect had a minumum order of $50. this may have changed.

Just as a note on this, any US online retailer shipping food, beer etc may well only take a US credit card. In those cases, I change my credit card address online to a US address, place my order, and then change it back.
