Compiz vizualization problem

Linux filter: I've lost a feature since enabling the Compiz visualizations, little help?

To rotate through my desktops I usually put the mouse pointer in the lower right corner desktop panel and scroll the mouse wheel to cycle through my desktops, with Compiz enabled this feature appears to be disabled, does anyone know how to get this back, I think it's a deal-breaker for me and Compiz.

Best answer: Yep! Make sure you have compizconfig-settings-manager installed so you have a graphical front-end to all the settings (it's in the deb/ubuntu repositories). You can open that (on ubuntu) under System>Prefs>Advanced Desktop Effects Settings. Then, enable the plugin you want to handle desktop changes, like expo, desktop wall, or cube (I like expo). Then in that plugin's settings, on the "bindings" tab you can set an "edge" or corner binding. Then moving the cursor to that spot will bring up the preview overlay (cube, or whatever effect) of the desktops which you can then wheel through to select. You can tweak the plugin settings to make the animation or appearance more/less subtle, too.
