What auto service shoud I get and where?

Here in Seattle I have a 2008 Honda Fit which I've been getting serviced at local dealers for its entire life. Recently, I've become a bit fed up with their recommendations, which I consider dubious and would like some advice about what service is really needed and where I should get it. [more inside]

Where to stay with dog near First Hill (Seattle)

Where should I stay with my (small, clean, very good) dog near the First Hill Surgery Center in Seattle? He is super excitable around traffic so I need someplace calmish. Airbnb is fine but what neighborhood am I looking for? No more than say 20 minutes away very early on a weekday morning. Thanks!

How dangerous is Washington State, actually?

Earthquakes and volcanoes and tsunamis, oh my! Also wildfires. My husband and I have absolutely fallen in love with the state of Washington. We are seriously considering moving to the greater Seattle region. However, the more research I do, the more I keep reading about the potential for earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, and wildfires. I'm having difficulty finding resources regarding how serious a threat these things actually are. Please help me understand if these things are serious risks that should legitimately dissuade us from moving to the region! [more inside]

Seattle area outings, with crutches and/or borrowed wheeled assistance?

My 19 year old son had knee surgery last week. His medical crew want him to be up and moving, to get better at using crutches and generally for exercise/circulation benefits. He’s also starting to get pretty bored with the same four walls. So, I’m looking for outing ideas in the Seattle area that aren’t too exhausting while upright, or where we can rent or borrow a wheelchair or scooter. [more inside]

Please help my friends love Spokane!

Dear friends and their adorable pup are moving to Spokane (he's already there, she's been out for visits and is following soon). They've been living in a great Midwestern college town, are disappointed in the farmers market (so far) and haven't yet found a bakery with amazing bread. The new house will be near Manito Park. They're bright progressive vegetarians in their early fifties who love great food and wine. Please recommend anything in the area that will help make their new life wonderful. Day and weekend trip suggestions, too. Thank you!
