What's happening Boston?!

Hi Boston, what should I do with you? My family is a teen and two middle aged queer women. Some or all of us like nerdy stuff, art museums, live music, science, nature, weird underground art, bookstores, history, activism, and eating really tasty food. We'll be in Boston (and Western Mass - mostly around Amherst/North Hampton) in mid-May. We don't have a big agenda, just want to relax and explore. I'm mostly looking for Boston suggestions but feel free to chime in with your favorite Western Mass suggestions too. Thank you!

Running loons on the Cape

So, on a whim, I signed up for the Cape Cod Ragnar relay. I have experience of road races and of the East Coast, but not of Ragnars and not of Massachusetts. Help me minimize my rookie problems...so far, the office Race Bible only covers so many questions (and anyway, the founders are flyover-country yokels like me). [more inside]

From the City of Big Shoulders to The Home of the Bean and the Cod

My company is consolidating the US R&D jobs to the home office in Boston a year from now. They are offering positions in Boston, which means moving from Chicago. If any MeFites have made a Chicago to Boston transition, do you have any guidance/advice about local differences to keep in mind? [more inside]

Pahk the Cah well outside of Hahvahd Yahd

Boston parking filter: I'll be visiting Boston for 7 days (and one overnight tomorrow, with a two day break after) around New Year's. I'm staying in town and looking for a place I can park my car for most/all of the time for a low cost (i.e. obviously not at my hotels). Where would you recommend I leave the car? [more inside]

Can I get a gate pass at Boston Logan?

My wife is flying with our twin sons to Seattle (God bless her) on Wednesday. I'd like to accompany her to the gate to help with luggage, car seats, etc. They're flying JetBlue. When I worked for the airlines (post-9/11) this wasn't an issue and I'm wondering if this is still true.

Planning stuff to do in Boston in February?

I'm going to be in Boston in mid-February, 2018, for a few days (which days are yet to be determined). What should my family and I do while we're there that requires advance planning? For example: when we went to DC, I got tickets to the African-American History Museum months in advance. I used to live in Boston but I don't know what's going on now. We've got adults, teens, tweens, with a variety of interests.

Askme Hopstop - Medford to Boston edition

So my daughter and I have been gifted a place to stay in Medford, MA, this weekend and we have a super tight schedule. We will be on Frederick Ave in Medford and need to know the fastest way to get to the Museum of Science. There is apparently no Hopstop for Boston, so I'm hoping that one of you amazing nerds can help out some other nerds to get there.

Another luggage question: Boston edition

Staying in Boston's North End, have to check out of an Airbnb at 11am, don't have to be at Logan until 3:30ish. Four people with big suitcases. What to do with the suitcases so we can enjoy our last day in town? Airbnb host can't accomodate me with a late check-out or luggage storage. No local friends/family. Help?

How long to connect flights at Logan International?

On the return leg of our American incursion, we'll be flying in from Florida and connect to our international flight with Delta. Currently JetBlue arriving 3 1/2 hours before our international flight departs is looking like the best option. Is that enough time to get our luggage in Jetblue (Terminal C) and then get through to Delta (Terminal A) check in and clear security?

What to do in Boston?

I am going to Boston this weekend. I have been there a billion times but have never really done any Bostony things. What should I plan to do? Things I like: seafood, New Englandyness, American history, public transportation, and roast beef but I think I've got that covered.
