I have a dentist appointment in SF (near our mostly-shuttered office) coming up, and I'll have to come in from the East Bay where I've been working from home. I'm hoping not to deal with $$ garages (which could be full anyway) or 1-hour street parking, so I was just wondering if it'd be relatively safe (i.e. not a Covid hot-zone) to ride BART at the moment. (The office is on Sansome a few blocks from Market, if that helps).

We are planning to relocate to Northern CA towards the end of the year. While I realize most everything in the Bay Area is still locked down and traffic might not be a significant issue, I am trying to ascertain commute times between locations, with my boyfriend working in Palo Alto and my own work in Cupertino. I'm going to be commuting by car twice a week from Berkeley to Stanford and back. I have some timing flexibility on the way back: I can leave Stanford at 3pm when I finish work, or I can hang around for a while and leave later. How much difference would it make traffic-wise to leave at 3pm vs. 4pm vs. 5pm vs. 6pm? When is peak rush hour on that route and when do things ease up a bit?

I stupidly said I'd go to South SF during the lunch hour on a couple of weekdays this week. I forgot that means I'm gonna have to use BART on a weekday and everything will be much more buggered than I'm used to on weekend travel. [more inside]

I'm going to be hanging out in the Bay Area for 5-6 days in late April/early May, for a mix of seeing family in Menlo Park and fun/touristing. I will probably stay with said family for 1-2 nights, but I want to be in closer to city things and public transit the rest of the time. I'm in Berkeley right now (near the Ashby BART station) and am headed down to Menlo Park this afternoon/early evening (today, Friday). It looks like there are two ways I can go: through San Francisco via rail the whole way, or along the East Bay via rail and then via bus across the Dumbarton Bridge.
