Spending a few days in LA in early Jan with my 8-year-old. Looking for stuff to do. They like: Minecraft, funny kids graphic novels (Dogman, the Bad Guys, Diary of a Wimpy Kid), dinosaurs, science museums. I like: Karaoke, drinking coffee, being with my kid. My wife is attending a convention this week in Anaheim. She loves Disneyland. I want to make her happy. So I'm going along for the whole trip so we can spend one day in Disneyland. I'm from out of town and I'm trying to find the best way to transport myself, a bike and 2 large suitcases in San Francisco. I can't ride the bike because of the bags and don't want to chance ordering an uber or lyft that won't take the bike because I'm being dropped off at a bus and don't want to be late. The drive is only 7-10 minutes away. Any suggestions on the best way to do this? Thanks!

Our family is heading out this weekend on a road trip that will eventually bring us to San Francisco, where we have not been in many years. Last time we were there the Exploratorium was still in the Presidio and our (now adult) kids loved it. I lived in SF for years and years, but it was time to go a little over 5 years ago. I'm heading back for a brief trip, and have found many of my favorite places closed or not quite what they used to be. I'll be going to several favorites that are thankfully still around (The Roxie! Forbidden Island!) but I'm hoping for any new hotness is that's opened since 2017 that you'd recommend.

I thought June 16- 19th would be a good time to take a solo road trip to Lassen Volcanic National Park to avoid crowds and do some hiking. It's a 4 hour drive for me to get there and I don't want to do all that driving and end up not really being able to do much. I don't own snowshoes or chains, nor do I want to. [more inside]
