Need urgent medical prescription in Stockholm

My daughter is visiting Stockholm for a week and just realized she has taken an empty medical prescription package with her. She really needs a replacement today. Where to go, what to do? Help? She's tried the 1177 phone line but it connects to a menu only in Swedish. [more inside]

Taking a big duffel bag full of seeds from NYC to Sweden - problems?

A contact in Sweden is a big succulents grower and the seeds she wants to grow are not easily available there. Turns out the seed packets are here. And cheap. Also cheap are tickets from NY to Stockholm. My sister just loves traveling and, if my contact in Sweden picks up the flight and hotel, she'd happily deliver a giant bag of seeds. My question is: can she? Do you need a special permit or is "giant bag of seeds commerce" legit?

Short notice: how to print a passport photo in Stockholm tonight.

I need to get a passport photo printed in Stockholm tonight or tomorrow morning. Does anyone know of a print shop in central Stockholm that can print an image off my phone? (the photo should be all ready- it just needs to be printed at 300dpi onto photo paper). This has to happen between 10:00 tonight and roughly 8:30 tomorrow morning to leave me time to get to my appointment at the embassy. Insane schedule brought to you by travel, the US embassy, and thieves with crowbars.

Stockholm with little kids

We will be spending four days in Stockholm in the middle of June, with two boys, three and six years old. We've got the standard order guidebook suggestions (Vasa Museum, Skansen, etc.) of things to do, but I'd really love some suggestions of fun things for kids, or even just playgrounds for them to run around when they have had enough of Vikings and whatnot. They tend to be very excited about all modes of transportation, so trams, ferries, etc are a bonus. We will be staying near Ostermalm.

The most scholarly hobo

How in the hell does one find housing in (or around, I don't even care) Stockholm? Should I not tell people I am American, am I just having bad luck, or is no one answering my ads just because it's July and everyone is on vacation? I'm beginning to worry about ending up homeless--please help me, Stockholm-based Mefites! [more inside]

Känn ingen sorg för oss Stockholm

My wife and I will be in Stockholm for a few days in June, staying with some friends in Kungsholmen before traveling the countryside with them by car. Nights we'll be with them, but we'll have some time in the days to explore Stockholm on our own. We have guidebooks to find all the major attractions, etc.--but hoped you could give some advice on fun places to go, or things to see, street kiosks to buy lunch, etc. that don't make it into guidebooks. Quirky is a plus! [more inside]

How should three tourists enjoy Valborg in Stockholm next week?

Two friends and I, all Americans, will be in Stockholm next week when it is Valborg/Walpurgis/Vappu. Is there anything in particular we should see, or do you have any guidelines for how to enjoy this as foreigners? Open to all suggestions, except for going somewhere other than Stockholm. Help me find a quirky and not too expensive hotel in Stockholm.

I'm heading with my partner to Stockholm for a long weekend in June and would love recommendations for a place to stay. We'd like to stay somewhere that won't break the bank but also a bit individual and quirky. For example, I stayed in the CitzenM hotel in Glasgow recently and loved it - it was boutique but at a budget conscious £70-90 per night. I am guessing Stockholm will be a bit pricer than Glasgow so happy to pay a bit more, but that's the sort of place I am looking for. TIA!
