Why has there been no new youth subculture since 1998? 1960s had hippies, '70s had disco and punk, '80s had hip hop and goth, '90s had grunge. And yet kids and twenty-somthings have been wearing trucker caps and ironic sunglasses for 15 years now. What happened?

The non-profit where I work runs an employment program for teens. I've been tasked with helping to come up with content for a facebook page for this program. We'll be posting info on local job opportunities, but I'm looking for more general resources on employment & education for teen audiences. Are there any good blogs or websites? Podcasts? Youtube channels? Books worth reading & recommending? Other sources for ongoing content?

I'm 26 with a young looking face. I also tend to dress casually and don't really want to spend a long time getting ready in the morning. I used to wear some lipstick and eyeliner to make me appear older, but I want to project a more natural look.
What can I do to make myself look more my age? Glasses? Darker hair? Certain hair styles? I do have short hair up to my shoulder.

For practically everyone I know, myself included, their 20s contained the best times of their lives and many experiences that likely will not be repeated or enjoyed as thoroughly as they get older. What is the secret for me - or anyone else - to recapture the magic of youth as life goes on and responsibilities grow? More details, including snowflakes, inside.

My wife is the director of an after school program that serves low income minority youth in grades 3 through 12. She is looking for practical tips to share with direct service staff around positive support of youth, program structures that work, behavior management, and incentives. What resources might you recommend (web or print)? What suggestions do you have as to what's successful or ways to assist in training and supporting staff within programming. Thanks.

You're a young person, in your 20s or so, and you've noticed that quite a few of your similarly-aged peers & friends are in desperate need of care due to major mental and emotional health challenges - which are taking a toll on everything else. However, support services for this group are lacking. What could you learn or train in to be able to be a better source of support and care for your peer community?

When I used to do testing for the State Employment service we had what we called a general "interests inventory" test ("Would you rather collect butterflies or draw a picture of a building?") We would give it to young people to help determine what areas of work they might like to pursue.
Is there a current, free online test like that?
