I want to find a good yoga studio in San Francisco that offers both ashtanga and vinyasa/flow in a guided but fairly traditional style. Reasonable student rates and easy access from the Mission St BART are pluses. Recommendations?

Hi there!
I'm planning a road trip around the US and Canada this June and was looking for suggestions for independent bookstores and places that cater to Yoga practitioners/Yoga studios that have an oomph factor. Do you have a favorite indie bookstore or a Yoga studio you go to that you'd love to share with other people? I welcome any and all suggestions!

I have an apartment where adding in more seating is needed but I don't want another couch, but do want couch-density seating. I want something that makes sitting yoga-style on my hardwood floors more comfortable. What should I buy, and where should I buy it?

I'm looking for suggestions about strength- and endurance-building exercises -- general types or specific motions -- that will either engage my super-weak ankles and wrists in order to strengthen them or avoid using said weak bits entirely in order to avoid exacerbating the existing problems.
Preceding that, I am not even sure which route to take in the first place: activate/try to strengthen these weak areas, or avoid/leave well enough alone?

I think I have the flu--or to be more precise, I think I am fighting the flu. But as usually happens, rather than straightforwardly getting sick and then getting better, I seem stuck in the early stage of not having terribly severe symptoms (congestion etc) but being exhausted, achy, and running a very low-grade fever on and off. This may go on for two weeks or longer. I rarely get "sick".
Given that
people are most contagious in the early days of flu infection,
same with colds if that what it is, does this mean that I am infectious for longer than most people? And based on your opinion on that, is it (a) a good idea for me to go to hatha yoga, (b) where there's an immuno-compromised (person who is doing or has recently completed chemo) person in my class?

Going to a retreat in Kerala in Jan 2013. What do i need to take with me so i'm not the ill-equipped and inappropriate lady everyone rolls their eyes at? (Daytime is yoga and ayuverda therapy, weekends off for sightseeing, eating out down the beach or in the local town in the evening)
Also, any recommendations of sightseeing and anything interesting to read beforehand?

I'm looking for very comfortable elastic-waist, drawstring men's "yoga"-style pants for hanging around the house and for practicing yoga. Must have pockets.
Most dedicated "yoga" pants seem to cost $75 or more. I'm hoping for cheaper!

I started going to the gym 5 days a week last year and am managing to hold steady with that. I do one hour a day, 15 minutes running, 15 minutes yoga, and 15 minutes weights. (The remaining 15 minutes is me lying on the ground breathing heavily at various points.) Should I be concentrating on one of the three at a time?

Catastrophic Google-Fu Failure. Help me find these three things: One, a web comic which had a flower with an ASCII art penis on it. Two, a web comic which had peeps and Mal from Firefly. Three, a video of a man doing a yoga flow routine which included L-sit to handstand, scorpion, and back again. Sorry for the grab bag, this stuff is simply driving me nuts.

Looking for a very specific book of yoga positions for children - it was simply written and the illustrations were black ink line drawings on white paper, usually of young people and adults doing introductory yoga positions.
My mother used the book with my brother and myself regularly in the 1970s, but looking through the various kids' yoga books on Amazon now I'm not finding it. Anyone who grew up in the same era, or who raised kids in the same era, find this familiar?
