I have only the most basic HTML skills and I am posting a form on my Typepad blog, with some HTML provided by Yahoo groups. It all works great, except I would like to center the form on the page. I am hoping that someone here in the "hive mind" would be kind enough to tell me what code to put where in the following html so that the form will center? Many thanks!!! (code below) [more inside]

Google Groups vs Yahoo Groups: Which would you choose? I need to pick a free email discussion group manager to serve as a digital town square for a group of 300-500 people of poor-to-decent computer skills across North America. Please help me choose. [more inside]

I'm moving a fairly large mailing list from Yahoo groups to Google groups. I'm wondering if there is a nice way to move the large message archive. I have all the messages on my machine in eml/txt/mbox format. How can I get all these messages over to Google Groups? My best idea is to write a script that parses the From field and message body from the email, then masquerades as that user to send the message to the google groups address, but I was wondering if someone can think of something better.

Yahoo Groups. Their search interface, to put it mildly, sucks. Does anyone have any bright ideas as to how one could, say, transfer over a few thousand messages to gmail?

What's a good advertising-free alternative to Yahoo Groups? I'm looking to run a private mailing list, 10-20 subscribers, conversational in topic (which rules out Freelists.org). I have shell access on a Linux account, but not root (which rules out a Majordomo install). What else is out there?
