Is there a source anywhere for Drone Strike data (Date, kills, location etc.) available as an XML or JSON feed? I'm looking to pull in and crunch the numbers for a Processing project.

We are trying to manually download a dropshipper's XML file of products. The file size is over 22MB and I can't open it in my web browsers Internet Explorer or FireFox (both latest). I tried asking them if they could allow me to read the directory the file's on so I could right click on it and download it manually but they refuse to do so. They told me I need to use an external program to download this XML file. I tried looking but with no luck. Could someone please help me.
Thank you so much...

I have a self-hosted WordPress blog in which every post is an image (with alt-text) and a single comment. I'd like to move this material over to a Tumblr blog. The site has two years' worth of material, with about three posts per week.
I've done a Google search and it seems there are three methods for migrating WordPress content to Tumblr. All involve exporting the WordPress Blog to XML first, which I've done.

I would like to scrape information from an RSS feed into an Excel-readable text file for a completely legal non-copyright violating use. In a better world, I'd have access to the database that generates the feed, but since this ain't a perfect world it appears that scraping is my best bet. Are there tools that will help me automate this, or programming tutorials that will help me figure it out myself (it's been 15 years since I last write any code beyond simple SQL queries)?

I've been trying to apply the boolean below as a filter for a bunch of .xml files and I'm unable to get it to run properly. Every entity (in this case car manufacturers) appears on a new line.
I'm new to boolean search strings and am completely stumped. My main problem is that the car company SEAT is returning all results for the word "seat" as in car seat etc...Obviously the parentheses usually limits the filter to specific models. However, when I run SEAT on it's own it works fine. The problem appear to be that there is an error in my boolean somewhere else, which causes the program I'm running it through to ignore all the boolean completely.
Thanks in advance.

I know nothing about XML files (I don't even quite know what to open it with. OSX tries to use Adobe Illustrator, but surely that can't be right?). Is there any way to do this more or less easily?

How can I sync an online calendar feed (xml) with either iCal or Google Calendar? I know I can sync iCal and gCalendar easily through several methods. But what I also need to include is my department's events calendar. I can import it as an iCal or Outlook file, but this is only a one-time option. Once the department's calendar is updated I don't receive the new or changed events. And I suspect if I import the (newer) file again, I will get many duplicates. The calendar has an xml feed I could subscribe to, but can't figure out how to translate this into a calendar that automatically syncs or updates. Willing to consider any options that would lead to the online calendar (.ics, .csv, or .xml file) being auto updated to any calendar application. This would make my life so much easier! Thanks!

There are a number of websites that show the odds and (if I'm using the term right), the "lines" for various sporting events that physical and online casinos offer (linking would be spammy, but a quick search of "vegas odds" or some such thing will turn them up). My question is how do the site owners obtain the data from the casinos? I have to imagine the data is provided subject to a license agreement (and I would expect there to be some sort of schema to prevent sudden changes to the format of the data presented). How would one go about getting access to the feed of the odds and the payout ratios (?) from one or more casinos without getting rampaged by hoards of angry lawyers? Contacting the casinos has, unsurprisingly, proven fruitless given the difficulty explaining what I'm looking for to a non-technical support representative ("So you want to know how to gamble online?"). NB: I've never bet on sports, so apologies if my lingo is off. I appreciate any help and guidance!

I build Flash applications for a living. I generally make them configurable via an xml file. I'm looking for a quick and easy solution that would allow me to set up a form that clients could fill out when they want to update the xml. NOTE: everything needs to be hosted on the client's site, to which I often have limited access. So I don't want a solution that involves complex DB management.

Generating XML documents help? I work with the county health department, and have been asked to come up with a way to create, store and manipulate metadata for various datasets we store internally on a network drive. Basically I think the simplest thing to do is to create an xml file stored in the same directory with any dataset. Preferably I can do this with infopath 2003 or free software, and using the
Dublin Core standard for metadata. I've seen the 5 year old answers on Dublin Core Metadata from
this Ask, but I need to let my coworkers create the data first, and that mostly covers storage/database solutions. Looking through various DC list archives hasn't been helpful.

Where/how do I learn enough about xml to communicate with elance contractors producing xml output for my company?
I am computer literate and had no trouble learning the basics of hierarchical structure, well-formed code, tags etc. from a couple of online tutorials, but I have no programming experience and I wouldn't actually be writing any code myself. The highly rated xml books I've found on Amazon seem to be written mostly with programmers in mind.
