Wrist pain two years after the injury--suck it up or get treated?

Wrist pain and popping

A while back, I did something totally normal like reaching into the back seat of my car, and my wrist popped and started hurting. I've tried a bunch of stuff and it's not getting better. The doctor says I'm supposed to immobilize it and come back in a month, at which point we can talk about surgery (!!!). I'm frustrated by this and tired of being in pain. Should I pursue other treatment, and if so, what kind? [more inside]

Tell me how to plan for a potential Tendinitis treatment

I believe I am getting Tendinitis in my right wrist. Despite my best efforts (Ergonomic everything, mousing with the left hand, exercises every hour) it has slowly gotten worse over the past year. I want to go talk to a specialist about it, but I am very anxious about what treatment will entail. Can you please tell me what your experience has been with getting tendinitis treated? What were the costs, how many visits did it take, what kind of treatments did you receive? [more inside]

Activities for active guy to do while recovering from hand surgery?

My brother (in-law) is having surgery tomorrow on his hands to help with his Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. He's a roofer, a general contractor and also a rock-climber, so you can imagine how not having the use of his hands for up to six weeks is going to drive him crazy. They live nowhere near me, but I'd like to present him with a list of things that he could do while bed-ridden and beyond. Points for originality, and thanks.

RSI Exercises

My job involves a lot of repetitive motion and I type way too much outside of work. I've had RSI issues in the past, and I want to strengthen my wrists/arms/shoulders so that they don't flare up again. Any recommended books or web sites where I can find RSI-specific exercises?

(Yes, yes, I know. Just Type Less. Assume for the moment that's not an option).
