How do I overcome Friday afternoon restlessness?

Every Friday at work, feel restless. I'm not content to sit at my desk. I feel the need to walk around, do something, get out of the office. I can't seem to focus on work, or accomplish much throughout the day. My weekends are particularly exciting, but I just have the overwhelming feeling to get out as soon as possible on a Friday afternoon. What can I do to get over this?

Does anyone recognize what book this illustration is from? It looks pretty old. Hopefully in the public domain.

My new landlord is useless

My new flat is not ready to move into after two weeks following the start of my new lease. Should I withhold rent or would that be starting off on the wrong foot? The landlord had promised to have all the work completed before the beginning of the lease (9 August) and had assured me by telephone that the work had been done. When I went to look at the flat on Monday, the floor had not been laid, a wall suffering from damp had not been replaced, the oven had not been installed, the shower and curtain had not been put up. and the flat had not been painted.

I've had to delay my move after booking the movers, and the time in my old flat is running out (fortunately I'm not paying rent on it anymore). I don't want to piss off my new landlord unnnecesarily, and he assures me that the work will be completed by Friday, but by the same token I don't want him to think he can get away with his actions (or lack thereof).

I've already threatened to withhold rent and he does seem to be getting a move on, but I am not going to take this lying down. What should I do? I live in London by the way, and have a 12-month contract.

MicrosoftWorks == Oxymoron;

How do I convert documents from .wps format to .doc format? I understand that the general advice regarding Works documents is "don't save them like that," but I'm not in control of their creation. Open Office and Office don't recognize the files, and I need a OSX AND Mac solution. I am open to purchasing software < $75, although I would prefer not to.

Come on Works, work!

Extremely odd and specific Microsoft Works word processor text entry problem... Customer has Microsoft Works (2002?) on Windows XP. They were having a problem entering text in the Works word processor (Wwp). We did a full "wipe and reload" - format, reinstall Windows, install updates (SP2 etc). No viruses or other malware present. They tried it out at our store, no problems. When they get it back to their house, they can't type in Wwp. You can use Alt and Ctrl shortcuts, you can paste in text from elsewhere, backspace works, but you cannot actually enter new text using the keyboard. You can type text into a WordArt dialog box, but not directly into the document. New and saved documents have the same issue, so I don't think it's a "default template", "Word/normal.dot" kind of thing. It doesn't seem possible that it's a hardware issue - the entire keyboard works in everything else, with or without Wwp open, and partially works in Wwp. The same issue remains after removing extraneous hardware like printer, scanner, etc. I even unplugged the mouse, leaving only the power cable, keyboard, and monitor attached. No luck. What in the heck is going on here?
