Early 30s married lady here. I have recently been offered some big opportunities for advancement in my career. However, my husband and I have also decided to try to start a family. I'm a little freaked out that this is all happening at once, and am not sure how much of this opportunity/ambition I should take on.

I am taking sick leave while my kid has had some appendix issues. (He was in the ER yesterday and we have surgical consults coming up tomorrow.) I have time this afternoon to catch up with work but am feeling vaguely annoyed at being put-upon by a certain department. Office drama and snowflakes inside.

Need some career advice:
Internet Brands has had me for a few interview for a Project Manager, but
Glassdoor has some really bad things to say (and good, but those can be phony placements). Has anyone ever worked or know someone that worked there? What's it like?

How do you make yourself go to sleep/do errands/be a grown-up when you have no responsibilities or schedule you need to keep? When I hear people say they loved a show and watched 3 episodes before bed because they had to work the next morning I laugh because if I love a show I might watch 10 episodes because I can.

My work/life balance is unhealthy and out of control for a variety of reasons. Help me figure out if this is fixable, or if I need to cut bait and walk - and if I do, how do I keep from letting this happen next time?

I feel like I'm trying to do too many things at once, all of them poorly. I also feel that I'm doing myself a big disservice by being in this situation. I feel like my life is in total disorder. I feel like I'm losing the race, to be honest. I'm afraid that the only way to win the race is to run faster, which I'm finding very difficult. Sordid details following.

Currently I am working in a job that requires me to be your typical workaholic but I am soon moving onto a new position in an organisation that is very worklife balance oriented and I am concerned I will struggle with the transition.

I naturally get a strong productivity burst in the late afternoon/evening . Unfortunately, this doesn't sync up well with the actual hours of my 8-4 workday. How can I shift my biological clock to let me get stuff done earlier in the day?

I've been coming to terms with possibly having a chronic auto-inflammatory and/or auto-immune disease. I've taken time off from work as I was pretty badly debilitated and I've been in and out of doctors appointments and physiotherapy fairly constantly.
YANMD, YANAD, but you might be a patient or someone dealing with a similar situation. My question. How did you know it was the right time to get back to work and how did you assess your stamina and mental energy? Did it result in a wholesale rethinking of your professional life?
