I'm a person with a disability who's been seeing a sex worker for the last few months. It's been a lot of fun and I have no regrets, but should I continue seeing her? The full dirt inside.

[USA] Best chances to become a foriegn service worker? I want to apply, I've alreadly gotten the study guide, but beyond studying and being open minded of the people I'd be dealing with, I don't really know how to prepare.

Quotefilter: "Workers of the world, unite!" No, that's not quite it. Looking for some words I only vaguely remember to include in my farewell message to my future-former co-wageslaves.

I am a clinical social worker looking to start a private practice. Are there any good books that cover the basics on how to do this? if you are in private practice, how did you start? What are the main things I should know? Is it possible to make a living doing this? Should managed care be avoided?

I'm presently completing a B.A. on Psychology (via distance learning) with the intentions of continuing towards a Masters in Clinical Social Work. I have a couple of questions:
1) I'm 42 years old and have done back to school as a career changer. I have a wife and daughter and need to work part time while I'm a full time student. Does anyone have any suggestions for work which might help with graduate schools looking at both my academic and work background? All of my previous work experience involves working with people, but not much similar to work a therapist would be engaged in (worked for last 8 years as a talent agent)
2) Does anyone know which cities offer the greatest potential for work as a clinical social worker as I hope to eventually open a private practice, but will work in hospital or mental health facility while gaining experience?

My boss/employer has been dodging me for a month in regards to my benefits & raise. How can I get him to do his job before I quit while walking out the door? I have been working full time for 3 months and I have not been offered ANY benefits even though I requested a meeting with him four times. Is there anything legal I can use to my advantage?

My american fiance has potentially been offered a job in Canada... we've been reading that a labour market opinion is required in order to offer him a job, as we are trying to get all the legwork out of the way. We have found the websites necessary, and all the forms, but I'm looking for any personal anecdotes from any MeFites out there who may have had to do a similar thing - looking specifically for potential processing times, etc.

I start a new job next week at a local newspaper in the production end of ad sales...ie. design. This will be the first time I've worked in three years. I dumbed down my resume a lot to get the job, which I really want. It's in a small town, which I moved to three years ago and the paper publishes twice a week....small town....really small town. I used to work at a high profile 24 hour Cable News Network located in Atlanta, GA, which shall remain nameless, wink. wink, in a very stressful, high responsibility position...

Day laborers. You know, the guys hanging around Home Depot (or Chavez Street in San Francisco) waiting for work. What's the protocol for hiring them for a day? What's the going rate? There's got to be a lunch break, but they don't seem to be carring lunch. Besides being paid in cash, what else is expected? If your Spanish is muy malo like mine, what do I need to know? How do I choose? Does anyone here have any experience in hiring a day laborer?
