Wordpress Multiuser + htaccess + uploading images = 404 links...

So I'm running Wordpress 3.0 multiuser-enabled, but I can't get any of the images (which all upload) on any blog but the first to display correctly. The only solution I've found online hasn't worked for me, and I think it's an .htaccess problem. [more inside]

Why did my Wordpress .htaccess file change or become corrupt?

I have a Wordpress blog (v2.8) that sudden started displaying an Internal Server Error message. My host (Dreamhost) found a problem with my .htaccess file. I didn't do anything to cause the problem so I am wondering what happened and if it could happen again. I "fixed" it by replacing it with one that does nothing. I am also wondering what the file should contain. I know what its purpose is, but not much more than that. [more inside]

What are best practices for changing the directory of a Wordpress blog?

I want to move my Wordpress blog from a subdirectory on my domain to the root directory -- i.e., I want the URL of my posts to be changed from http://www.domain.com/blog/post-permalink to http://www.domain.com/permalink . What's the best way to ensure that external links don't die? Is there a way to make sure that individual posts will retain their Google PageRank? [more inside]

'Fsockopen', Plus A Couple of Googlebot Questions

Website help: I'm asking for some input on (1) straightening out a problem with Google and its "description" for each page of my blog; (2) constructing a robots.txt exclusion for certain types of archive pages; and (3) the reason why something is looking for page URLs that have "function.fsockopen" at the end of them. Complex htaccess question for Blogger to WordPress migration

I recently shifted the content management for my blog (www.sindark.com) from Blogger to WordPress. I shifted the Blogger version into a sub-directory, so that people who prefer to access old posts in that format can. Now, I want to use htaccess to automatically redirect people who try to access the Blogger archives in the old location. I want them sent to the Blogger files in the new location. [more inside]
