Should I pay for MS Word just to make my job hunt easier? Although I have MS Word at work, at home I only have WordPerfect 12 and I don't want to have something round filed because a recruiter didn't like the format. There appears to be a free trial version of Word. Would I be able to use that for a resume?

I have close to 3000 files in Corel WordPerfect 11 that I need to switch to a program that I can use in Mac. I'd prefer a simple txt file, but Word will do if it must. Given that my Mac cannot open the original file, I need a script or something that will work in Windows. [more inside]

I have to use WordPerfect at work, and an awful thing started happening today out of nowhere-- whenver I type a comma, WordPerfect types a comma period-- so it looks like this ",." instead of just ","....how do I fix this permanently??? I have no idea what caused it to start happening. It's driving me insane.

WordPerfect help: I can't make it default to a regular tab instead of a hard indent tab when I hit the tab key in a manual outline (you know, typing 1. &c--there is a reason I'm doing the outline this way, and yes, I know how to set the automatic outline to use the tab and not hanging indent). Suggestions for how to change this setting? The help entries for hard tabs and tab set and the like have not helped.

Help! Somebody in the office was working on a Word Perfect document and accidentally saved over the contents with a blank document. Google only provides info on corrupted or deleted files (without much info on Word Perect). It seems like this would be recoverable metadata, but I know nothing about Word Perfect. [more inside]
