When I updated to Windows Media Player 11, why did I lose my sound? How do I get it back? I can get sound, that's not the problem. HELP! (yes, I googled... but i've tried everything on the first few pages and it's still not working.)

I checked "Don't ask me again" when dragging one artist into another in WMP11 on vista in order to change all the names from one to another (to combine "the beatles" and "beatles" into one, in this case), expecting it to just do it without asking in the future, but now I've lost this functionality altogether. How can I re-enable it?

Windows Media Player 9 used to begin playing an mp3 as soon as you clicked the link, so you didn't have to download the entire mp3 just to start hearing it. I can't seem to get WMP11 to do this - any ideas? [more inside]
