10th birthday party, fantasy theme: what fun ideas do you have?

My son is having his 10th birthday party later this month and the theme is 'fantasy' (witches, goblins, wizards, dragons, elves etc). What are some fun games/activities that you recommend for the day?

I want more books about powerful wizards

BookRecommendation Filter: More books that follow a character from youth through adulthood, to become someone powerful, famous and influential. ie- I'm looking for more books like Robin Hobb's Farseer trilogy and Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicle. [more inside]

Literature's greatest wizard fights?

What are the best magical duels and battles in literature? Sorcerors blasting each other with lightning bolts, the metaphysical shenanigans of Last Call etc, whatever. I haven't actually read the Harry Potter books, so if there are any particularly good wizard battles in that, do say.
