Can anyone recommend a typewriter repairman for a Selectric III in Wisconsin? Preferably in the Madison area, but I can head to Milwaukee, or even Chicago, or really anyplace to find a sage of the whippletree.

My mom and I both really like water parks, and are from the East Coast. Therefore we've never been to Wisconsin Dells, we'd like to go, and know nothing about it except that there's water parks. We'd like to go there for a few days this June - driving up from Chicago on a Wednesday and driving back home on Friday. Any advice you can give is welcomed.

I am hoping there are some metafites out there that have taken this exam and can tell me what to expect. Unlike other wildlife wildlife position exams, there is no option to "preview exam." Roughly how many questions is it? What type of questions and how should I study? I really want to get this job! Any advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated!

I work for a small non-profit in WI and the organization is about to close its doors. Because we are so small, the non-profit has not had to pay into the state UI fund. I don't know what that means for my ability to collect unemployment.
I am going to see an unemployment office as soon as possible, but I would appreciate any info from MeFi about whether there are ways I am eligible to receive benefits, if there are specific questions I should ask the UI office, and whether there are other state or federal benefits available to me as I look for a new job.

She's in her thirties, depressed and stuck back with her parents. She's feels like she can't get her act together to escape the negative self talk of her family. CBT? Fine. Talk therapy? fine. Is taking a roadtrip through the midwest over a couple weeks during the winter (around the holidays) a horrible idea? Tentative idea is Detroit to Tulsa via a bunch of stops to see things/cities/people. Tentative route - Detroit to Fargo via I-94 (via Chicago, Milwaukee, St Paul), Fargo to Kansas City via I-29 (via S. Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska) and then down to Tulsa.

Last spring or summer I heard a spot on NPR about a couple in Madison, WI who plant thousands of flower bulbs in their backyard every year. It became a bit of an attraction in the neighborhood as they allowed people to wander around the yard to see the flowers.
