I'm currently running open access from a wifi router (linksys) but my wife's vista machine can only access it as local only (no internet). I've scoured google and have since disabled IPv6. Still no good.
Any suggestions?

Laptop (running Vista) connects to home wireless network full strength but not to internet. The other laptop (OS X) connects to internet wirelessly no problem. The Vista laptop can connect the internet via ethernet cable. This seems to be a common problem but i cannot find an appropriate solution

I am looking for a signal booster that will play nicely on my laptop which has Vista. People recommended EnGenius USB Device but from what I gathered on Amazon, it does not work past XP. I basically need something that I can take with my on the go.
Intel GMA 4500MHD / Intel Wi-Fi / 10/100 Eth is what came with my laptop. Is there a signal booster compatible with Vista?

I have recently received a brand new HP530 laptop sporting an Intel Celeron M chip at 1.6GHz running a pre-installed version of Microsoft Windows Home Basic. Lovely to look at, but I rapidly came to grief attempting to connect to my BT HomeHub WLAN which works just fine for my iMac and another laptop PC.

Wireless connection on brand new laptop disconnecting after 5-30 minutes and unable to reconnect. Peer moderation with counselor, persuasive tactics with claw hammer and threats of waterboarding proving frustratingly ineffective. Any real solution out there?

Does anyone have any idea as to why a Macbook Pro or a laptop running WinXP could see a wireless network broadcast from an old Netgear (802.11b network) but two different laptops running Vista would not even see that the network exists?
The SSID is being broadcast and while there is basic MAC address filtering being used, the Vista laptops don't even see that a network exists.
Thanks.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium and am having problems configuring a new wireless access point. Windows is unable to connect to it and I simply receive an "HTTP 400 Bad Request" error in my browser.
