Looking for recommendations for currency transfer services that are reputable, reliable and won't tack on as many fees as an international bank wire. This is for sending from a personal bank account in the US (from USD) and transferring to a personal bank account in South Korea (to KRW). The rubbery casing on my MacBook's charger just split after 6 months of use. I bought this one after the same thing happened to my last one. It's not splitting in the high strain zone near the body of the adapter, but part way down the cord. What's the best way to prevent the cord from splitting further? I've tried electrical tape previously, but it doesn't hold up well and leaves a lot of goopy adhesive behind. Thanks!

While installing a new car stereo in my 1999 Saturn SW2, I screwed something up, as I no longer get voltage to the orange "constant power" wire (well, sometimes a mere hundredth of a volt!) to my car stereo, and my engine won't crank either! Yet all of my other electronics (headlights, air conditioner, etc.) work fine. Is there a blown fuse preventing power from getting to the starter and the car stereo? If so, where might the fuse be? The fuses in the fuse box are all fine.

Mom, who only communicates through e-mail but has a distinctive style and insider information (so I know it's Mom), is traveling in the UK until 4/8/2014. She thought the lost her debit and credit card so she cancelled them. Now she has only her cash which won't get her all the way there. My challenge: figure out (with your help!) the best way to get her some funds so she can enjoy the trip. [more inside]
I've been watching Archer recently, and they had an episode with the super cliched "which wire to cut" scene. This made me wonder, is there any actual real world precedent for cutting a single wire to defuse a bomb (with every other wire resulting in death), or is this entirely a fictional scenario?
My aunt is dying of cancer, and I'd like to help her relive a happy memory. Sometime in the late 80s, we made wire flowers and dipped them in a strong smelling plastic (?) that hardened into clear colored panes. Neither of us can remember what it was called or very many specifics beyond that. It came in a can and we dipped the wire loops directly into it. It hardened relatively hard, and took maybe overnight to cure. What was it? Where can I get some? [more inside]

How do I wire my new bathroom exhaust fan? The old fan has three functions (fan, light, nightlight) and therefore connects to a triple switch on the wall.
