Can I rent ski clothes anywhere in the Philadelphia area? I'm going skiing this weekend and the resort I'm visiting doesn't offer clothing rentals. I just need a jacket and ski pants--any ideas?

Last minute long weekend holiday getaway, Doable? Advice needed on taking a belated Valentines long weekend with my sweetie. We're in NYC and would prefer to drive. (Or take a train if the place is really acessable). A very nice hotel in the country would be great, we don't need a bunch of outside entertainment - beautiful scenery a plus. We're looking to leave late Thursday or early Friday and return early/mid-Monday.

Suggestions?

What is "winter resort casual wear"? I have been awarded a trip (by my company) to Aspen CO in Februrary at the St. Regis. I'm told the attire is winter resort casual, but I don't know what this means. I'm not a skier, but I am a Googler, and all I find is resort casual, which seems to indicate warmer climate destinations, or mountain casual. Nothing for winter resort casual. Help me (and my wife) understand what not to wear.

Last-minute vacation madness: my sister in DC just asked me to plan a vacation to Disney World for my 6-year-old niece during this year's winter holidays. She'd like 3-5 days, either before or after Christmas. Today is already December 8. Is this perfectly doable, or difficult/expensive but worth it, or not recommended? If we go ahead at this late date, what can we do to get the most out of the trip?

I have business in the Bloomfield Hills suburb of Detroit in a couple of weeks. Google Maps gives me two routes from the airport car rental to my destination with roughly the same travel time and a third that appears slightly longer. Which is best in terms of ease of navigation for a solo driving Detroit area newb, safe road conditions (especially if it snows), and likelihood that the travel time is accurate (i.e. not prone to massive unexpected delays)?

Re-starting my indoor garden: What should I do? I've had a sucessful window-herb-plant garden going for years but then everything just died at once. I want to start fresh, from seed ideally, and as soon as possible. What plants (herb or house) grow in winter (Heated but not that heated apartment) with semi-eastern exposure that don't die if I look at them funny?

Buying Boots and a parka in Northern Alberta (Canada.) Where to look? The post title says it all.
I'm buying boots and a parka in Northern Alberta (Canada.) I'm only a couple hours north of Edmonton and can go there if necessary, but ordering online is also something I'd consider.
I plan to be spending a decent amount of time outside and want to get gear that will keep me warm, and last for years to come.
What are the quality names? Where is a good place to look?

I started dressing more fashionably in the last year; ditching my Kohls and Sears wardrobe for Banana Republic, J Crew, and Ann Taylor. Overall I'm pleased with my new wardrobe, but I have not figured out what to do for winter! I live in New England where it gets COLD and those thin little "sweaters" that BR and J Crew like so much don't cut it. Last winter I looked great but was frequently cold. Should I just go to LL Bean, or is there some winter fashion secret?
