Using Windows Vista at work: Once I finish making changes to a file in Microsoft Word 2007, I want to attach the file to an email in Outlook 2007. Currently, I am opening subfolder after subfolder getting to it either on the desktop or in the attach file dialog in Outlook, but that's annoying. Please advise.

Tracking down and killing a virus - my virus scanner (Avast) is telling me scvhost.exe keeps trying to open malicious URLs. It also tells me I have a rootkit in the MBR. It doesn't seem capable of fixing either of these problems. What can I do? Windows Vista.

Windows Vista no longer recognizes my iPhone 3Gs as a drive and I can't sync with iTunes. When I connect the phone it appears in the iTunes sidebar but no longer appears as a drive in Windows. My phone says it's syncing (set to manual, not automatic) but nothing syncs. So far I've tried: changing the USB cable and ports, reinstalling iTunes, hard booting computer and phone, and installing new iPhone driver. Any ideas? Thanks.

I am currently running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit on my laptop and am looking forward to stepping up to Windows 7.
This is a great deal that would allow me to upgrade from Home Premium to Vista Ultimate which would then qualify me for Windows 7 Ultimate, right?

I just started up my new Windows Vista laptop for the second time and it told me that it detected a second monitor. I don't have a second monitor and one has never been plugged in, the first time I started up the computer all I did was do the mandatory first-time-startup configuration, and it's never been connected to the Internet (I'm writing this from another computer). Should I just ignore the message, or might something be wrong I should look into? (I started up the computer again to check whether this would happen again, and it didn't, although the screen went black for a while after the desktop was fully loaded.)

I'm running Vista on a Toshiba Satellite A105-S361 and the icon I've highlighted at
this link keeps showing up in my system tray. Setting to "Hide" gets rid of it for the current session, but upon re-starting Vista, it shows up again. Does anyone know how to get rid of this and/or what it is?
